Traineeship Program

Enhancing our aged care workforce

Our Commitment to Industry Training Partnerships

We currently have a robust partnership with several educational providers in our commitment to the development and enhancement of an aged care workforce. In our staff family, we support 14 School Based Trainee’s from OSMAC Apprentices and Mater Education who started with us in September 2020; 8 students at Marebello and 6 at Lorocco. The group is currently completing 50 work days over a 12 month period to gain their Certificate III in Individual Support. Throughout each year we also host placements for undergraduate Registered Nurses from Griffith University (School of Nursing and Midwifery) and nurses working for Enrolment through a Diploma of Nursing (TAFE).

We provide on site facilitation to each of these groups, many of whom are now permanent members of the Vacenti team. We are proud to have a continued relationship with the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and their nursing and geriatric specialty offerings. We currently have 5 Vacenti employees in differing roles, undertaking scholarships in the UTAS Diploma of Dementia Care.

Vacenti also has strategic alliances with external organisations such as hospitals, TAFE and Universities to provide the latest industry information and innovative ideas. We participate in research projects and actively seek better ways of doing things.

We have a Clinical Graduate Program which supports recently graduated registered staff. We provide them with on-the-job skills to complement their theoretical knowledge. We also partner with local universities and TAFE QLD to host student placements.
