Ensuring quality service

Vacenti is accountable for the delivery of safe and quality care through effective governance and ensuring that all regulatory responsibilities are met. The Vacenti Advisory Board was established in 2015 to help achieve this purpose further strengthening our organisational governance. The Vacenti Advisory board consists of 7 members who meet on a regular basis to review key reports and events and set strategic priorities. Each member brings a specific set of skills and experience to the board ensuring a balanced approach.

Mario Casagrande

Co-Founder and current managing director of Vacenti. Mario has extensive experience in the aged care industry dating back to 1976 when Vacenti’s oldest aged care facility “Esida” was built, by Mario and his father. His passion for aged care is driven by his desire to provide care and services suitable for his own parents Dom & Luica, this was achieved in 2019 when they both entered Portofino Hamilton. Mario is still actively involved in the day to day operations of Vacenti, visiting the sites on a regulars basis and engaging with residents and staff.

Louisa Casagrande

Co-Founder of Vacenti and has worked in aged care for over 20 years, alongside Mario. Louisa has been pivotal in the growth of Vacenti while ensuring that resident wellbeing is paramount. Louisa has been the backbone holding vital roles across the orgainisation including Marketing Manager, Finance Manager and Business Development. Louisa is still actively involved in Vacenti with her current focus on the procurement of furniture and equipment and interior design.

Julian Casagrande

Chief Executive Officer of Vacenti. As the son of Mario and Louisa he grow up in the family business often visiting the homes after school and on weekends. Julian worked as an auditor for a number of years wanting to gain experience and new insights from other industries which he could bring back to Vacenti. During this time he became a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Returning to Vacenti in 2017 Julian’s focus is on bringing innovation to Vacenti accompanied with the passion to provide a high standard of care passed on from Mario and Louisa.

Lois Janetzki

Lois has extensive experience in the aged care industry providing aged care consultancy advice, aged care facility management and national training and auditing. Lois is a quality assessor with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and has worked as a commonwealth approved nurse advisor throughout Australia. Lois is passionate about maintaining quality management systems to ensure the best possible care and service to resi-dents. Over the past 17 years Lois’s clinical, management and leadership skills have assisted Vacenti to excel in resident satisfaction, clinical risk and identify opportunities for improvement.

Rolf Larsen

Rolf is a BDO Tax & Advisory partner with more than 20 years experience providing services to local businesses, Rolf’s board experience
not only includes senior living but also property and construction. Strategic planning is one of Rolf’s areas of expertise, working with business owners to facilitate heir vision and values to help them develop, implement and monitor the strategic plan for their business. Rolf holds a Bachelor of Business and is a member of the Chartered Tax Adviser and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Peter Sydes

Peter has worked in or in association with the Aged Care and Commu-nity Services sectors since 1986 and has held senior management positions in both For-Profit and Not-For-Profit organisations. Over the past 20 years Peter has been involved in the development of new residential and community aged care services, retirement villages and disability support programs. Peter has significant experience in leading organisational change and led the merger of four separate entities to form Mercy Community Services SEQ Ltd. Peter holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and he is a member of the Austra-lian Institute of Company Directors. 

Barry Ashcroft

Barry has over 30 years experience in the aged care industry in a variety of leadership, development, operational, government and consulting roles. Formally the CEO of Leading Age Services Australia, the peak body for the aged care industry in Queensland, State Manager for the Aged Care Stan-dards and Accreditation Agency and CEO/Director of Domain Aged Care (now Opal Aged Care). Barry currently holds several advisory roles for other aged care providers and retirement village operators. Barry graduated a Master in Business Administration and Master of Technology Management from Griffith University and holds Diploma in Engineering.
